Well, in less than four days I'll be writing another novel for National Novel Writing Month, which starts in November. I have a brand-new laptop and a laptop sleeve on the way. I'm steadily working through Nanowrimo founder Chris Baty's workbook "Ready. Set. Novel!" I've already finished a first draft for a novel a few months back, but before I set into revisions, I figured, "What the heck? Why not try for two?"

This time around I'm writing a truly wacky fantasy that has football fans and comic book nerds teaming up to save the world. In the Midwest I found myself talking to both (especially being one of the latter myself), and I've found the two groups aren't as different as one might think. So I figured I'd put my theory to the test, and what better way to test it than to craft a madcap narrative where both groups must team up in order to save both pastimes and the world from certain doom?

I'm well aware this particular Nanowrimo might actually blow up in my face. I'm at the crossroads this time around and big changes may be coming down the pipeline. I'm not going to give up, but I'm also not going to get discouraged if things don't go my way. I've always done Nanowrimo. Twice. I don't need to prove anything to anyone. This is really for myself - it's a chance to escape into a wacky story, not pen the next Great American Novel (a vague and somewhat overrated concept in my mind). Nanowrimo should be and has to be fun first and foremost.

I'll keep you posted on how the project is going throughout November. I'll also try to address the pitfalls I've run into, and how I've overcome it, or maybe just how I wish I overcame it. I'm aware this won't work for everyone, but I always get a creative jolt just listening to fellow creative types sort through their problems. I hope it helps fellow Wrimers and anyone else struggling with creator's block the same way.

I'll hopefully start Friday, but I doubt I'll have time to update - so check back next Monday for my first progress report - and of course - check back Wednesday for the next Blue Yonder!

The only people makn The only people maknig money from this supposed gold and silver bullshit are people like Mike Maloney and his Chinese mate and all those fund managers that pipe up on Kingworldnews week in week out spouting the same old crap. They all have a book to sell and when they tell you to buy, they are shorting like mad. They are taking the fearful for one hell of a ride. Gold and silver will lose up to 50 percent of it's current value. DO NOT BE TAKEN IN BY THESE BULLSHITTERS. WATCH AND SEE>
